School Background.
Prosper Junior School started in 2016. It was the vision of my late wife, Kisakye Prosper Amina. She began teaching at the tender age of six, and by then, the community affectionately called her 'Madam Teacher." Her love for children was profound, and she would always prioritize them above all else.
In 2015, after discussing the possibility of starting a school, she began gathering children from the community. By 2016, she had successfully enrolled 78 children to start with.
When the school began, she took on multiple roles: bursar, headteacher, and even occasionally stood in as a gatekeeper. We started with classes from Baby Class to Primary One.
She celebrated the school's first anniversary in November 2016. Sadly, she passed away the following year on May 25th, 2017.
Expansion and Growth of Prosper Junior School Nabweru.
Before my wife’s passing, I was in the process of paying for an extension of land for the school, and by then, I had paid 35% of the cost.
We successfully completed the payment and fully owned the land, where we built a new nursery section and the school kitchen. This area also houses our stores and rubbish disposal site.
In 2018, I was guided to another piece of land, which is 2 acres in size, located near Pastor Bugembe's Church, 'The Worship House.' This land will serve as our school pitch, and we are currently making payments to the bank to clear the purchase.
Initially, I was reluctant to take on the responsibility of caring for the children, as my wife managed everything. However, during her illness, I stepped up to fulfill our shared dream and hired an Administrator to assist me. This transition made operations more costly and challenging, as I had to employ staff to fill various positions.
Through extensive marketing and mobilization, we began to attract more students. We are currently approaching 500 students, a testament to our growth and the trust parents have in us.
Vision and Mission
As the director of Prosper Junior School, my vision is to train children from an early age, instilling life skills and nurturing their talents alongside their academic education. With my dedicated team, we strive to create new and innovative learning experiences every day.
We are continually amazed by the capabilities of young children. At Prosper Junior School, we believe that children can complete their primary education equipped with skills that allow them to earn from their talents, whether in cooking, art and craft, baking, or other areas. Our goal is to help them excel both academically and in their unique talents, preparing them for a bright and successful future.
